Essential Job Functions
- Provides on-the-floor supervision of housekeeping team.
- Plans team members weekly shift schedule.
- Plans the work assignments for the shift.
- Inspects the work of team members for compliance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Responds to housekeeping calls or ensures that the calls be responded too in a timely fashion.
- Coordinates work activities among departments.
- Observes and reports on facilities conditions, which require attention and/or repair.
- Maintains high level of cleanliness for public areas of the property.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
- Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure operation is more efficient.
- Advises manager on supplies and new equipment purchases.
- Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
- Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons complaints.
- Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
- Advises manager on standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
- Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions (Smartsheets), time cards (Ultipro) and prepares periodic reports.
Job Specifications
- Removes trash to appropriate areas.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, such as but not limited to: vacuums, floor machines, scrubbers, extractors, and high lifts.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies in work areas.
- Effectively uses safety equipment and follows all safety and health procedures when using chemicals and equipment.
- Performs other jobs as assigned by the direction of management.
- Required to lift up but not limited to 50 lbs.
- Must demonstrate ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess basic Team Member relation skills.
- Must demonstrate proficient communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must be flexible with schedule.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
May need to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. At other times, the work requires some physical exertion, such as climbing, reaching, standing and walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The work environment is one with possible exposure to prolonged loud noise and sometime close quarters.
