The primary responsibility of the Bartender position is to provide beverage service and light hors d’oeuvres for the guests of the Oxford Collection of hotels evening reception or restaurant while adhering to sanitation and cleanliness standards.

The primary responsibility of the Bartender position is to provide beverage service and light hors d’oeuvres for the guests of the Oxford Collection of hotels evening reception or restaurant while adhering to sanitation and cleanliness standards.
Food and Beverage Service (60%):
- Check the identification of all guests who appear to be under 26 years of age
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served
- Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and insure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
- Lock up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secures bank
- Display knowledge of liquor laws, maintain the attractive presentation and sanitize all areas at least once daily, make suggestions for the reception and drink menus
- Bus and clean tables after guest use
Guest Relations (30%):
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner as they enter the lounge, exchanging their beverage voucher for a beverage
- Identify issues and resolve guest issues
- Detect and act on customer inebriation, as trained
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
- Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
- Obtain sales leads for the sales department
- Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager on things requiring attention
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- Other Hotel related duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
