The primary responsibility of the Dishwasher is to transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, bus persons and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests’ dining experience while adhering to sanitation and cleanliness standards. Also requires sanitation and cleaning of physical surroundings and garbage/recycling duties. Light food prep may also be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Oxford Hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which may vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working
  • Comply at all times with Oxford Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations while maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards.
  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish machine properly.
  • Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated.
  • Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per chef’s standards.
  • Clean ovens, fryers and other kitchen equipment as directed by Chef or supervisor.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Remove trash as needed.
  • Collect and sort recyclables.
  • Remove compost.
  • Maintain cleanliness of garbage, recycling and composting bins.
  • Keep kitchen hand wash sinks stocked with soap and paper towels.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, walk-in, back staircase, outside trash area and storage facility.
  • Learn and actively participate in kitchen production as directed by cooks, supervisors and chefs.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Hospitality / Hotel Work Experience preferred
  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to list 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
