- Strong food and beverage knowledge required.
- Knowledge of major wine regions, varietals, and wine pairing required.
- Recognition of personal accountability for their own actions and the outcomes of those actions.
- Previous fine dining experience is a plus.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
- Serve food and beverages to guests making recommendations if needed
- Share your menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
- Record transactions in the North Star system correctly and timely
- Check-in with guests to assure satisfaction with each course and beverage
- Clean tables, complete closing duties, and re-stock tableware and other supplies
- Collect information on guest preferences to ensure personalized service on every visit.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Help food preparation staff when necessary.
Requirements
Server Requirements:
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal communication
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to Resolve Conflict
- A high degree of professionalism and excellent personal presentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a standing position and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
