Oxford County Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram located in South Paris, ME is currently seeking a full time Automotive Service Advisor.
Oxford County CDJR is an award-winning Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership that has been a fixture in the region for the last 75 years and is one of the top new car dealers in the area.
Functional Role:.
The role of the Automotive Service Writer is to schedule appointments for customers and in-house work, maximizing the efficiency of the service department and its technicians. To provide customer service by answering customer’s questions concerning problems with their vehicle and to keep them informed of the status of their vehicle while it is being repaired. To properly document customer concerns on repair orders with all the necessary information to enable the technicians and warranty administrator to complete their jobs accurately and efficiently. To communicate with the parts department as to special order parts to complete repairs.
Responsibilities include;
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner.
- Schedule appointments using dealership-approved software.
- Document all customer concerns.
- Obtain customer & vehicle information.
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- If additional work is needed, explain the details to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration.
- Provide estimates of labor & parts.
- Follow up progress of each repair order during the day.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process & appointments and return phone messages promptly.
- Deliver vehicle to customers & answer any questions.
- Be responsible for quality control to ensure that work is completed as requested and to reduce comebacks.
- Interpret warranty information & policies to customers.
- Keep Service Manager informed of all problems & potential problems involving repairs, customers & equipment.
- Contact customers on the status of their vehicle and if required upon the completion of the repair order
- Reporting Relationships:
- The Service Advisor reports directly to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience:
- At least three years of customer service experience, preferably in the
- repair and servicing industry.
- Prefer someone with automotive experience or sales background.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Driver's License (Required)
- The ability to communicate with a customer and to deal with adversarial situations while maintaining composure.
- Effectively schedule multiple appointments with multiple technicians to maximize shop production.
- Proven sales ability.
Physical:
- Body Positions: Sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching and stooping.
- Body Movements: Turning head and torso, bending and flexing arms, wrists, and fingers, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands & arms and lift or move 30 lb.
- Body senses: Must be able to see and hear, have full power of speech as well as communicate on the phone with customers and associates. Must be able to see to read correspondence and related material and reports and have specific vision. This including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Mental:
Language: Must be able to read and write in English well enough to read and prepare reports, generate computer reports, and communicate effectively with peers, customers, and outside associates.
Mathematics: Must be able to calculate gross profits and margins. Complete routine arithmetic computations well enough to check invoices, repair orders, track trends and schedule times.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Service Advisor works both indoors and out, moving about the service building, dealership lot and body shop to communicate with customers, technicians and all dealership personnel. S/he Some weekends, evenings, and holiday hours will be required.
