The Senior Financial Analyst – Strategic Finance & Business Insights will support the firm’s growth by providing critical financial analysis, KPI reporting, and strategic insights. This role will play a key part in tracking business performance, analyzing profitability, and supporting executive decision-making.
Reporting to the Controller, with dotted-line relationships to both the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Development Officer (CDO), this position offers high visibility and frequent collaboration with senior leadership. Ideal candidates will have a background in FP&A, public accounting, or financial modeling, with strong Excel and data analytics expertise.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Business Performance Analysis
Analyze key financial metrics and business performance to support firmwide decision-making
Develop and maintain KPI dashboards to provide actionable insights to senior leadership
Conduct variance analysis, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
Assess Managing Director (MD) activity and profitability, providing insights to drive strategic initiatives
Reporting & Data Analytics
Utilize Salesforce and financial systems to extract, analyze, and present business insights
Track and report on MD sales pipelines and client activity to support business growth
Design and generate ad hoc reports from Salesforce, custodian data, and financial databases
Support the Client Profitability System, assisting with data uploads, analysis, and reporting
Prepare financial reports for the CFO senior leadership, and Board of Directors
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the annual budgeting process, consolidating department inputs and analyzing projections
Assist department leads in budget planning and variance analysis
Distribute and analyze monthly budget vs. actual reports, providing insights and recommendations
Strategic & Special Projects
Work closely with the CFO and Controller on high-impact financial initiatives and special projects
Support MD transitions in Salesforce, participating in transition meetings with the CDO
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance
4 years of experience in FP&A, public accounting, or a related financial role
Advanced Excel skills required, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data visualization
Experience with Salesforce preferred
Familiarity with database structures and reporting tools (Power BI, Sage Intacct, Tableau, or Crystal Reports) is a plus
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor and respect for confidentiality
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
