Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Flexo Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in press operations and color management, ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
SUMMARY
Sets up and operates printing press to produce pressure sensitive labels and related products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft, and installs print cylinder in press.
Fills flexo ink pans and pumps with prescribed inks. Fills letterpress ink fountains with prescribed inks.
Inserts shaft through core and secures roll on press in feed position.
Splices end of roll to stock remaining on press and adjusts tension and feed as directed. Starts press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
Engage print cylinders; adjust printing impression as necessary, place print cylinders lead- to-lead, and run-down approval strip.
Cuts sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspects for imperfections such as print to print out of register, print to die out of register, missing impression, ink starvation, or color adjustments, making adjustments as necessary.
Cleans flexo plates, print cylinders, and dies as needed.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required. Supervisor must approve all maintenance.
Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
