We are hiring an Human Resources Specialist in Los Angeles, CA.


Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and highly effective Human Resources (HR) Specialist who consistently goes above and beyond to support the HR Team and contribute to organizational success. This role is not just about fulfilling HR tasks; its about taking initiative, delivering exceptional results, and always seeking ways to improve and learn more. The HR Specialist will provide key support across various HR functions, acting as a trusted resource to employees and managers while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. 

The ideal candidate will not only handle HR administrative duties efficiently and will also take ownership of processes, seek collaborative solutions, and look for opportunities to add value. They must exhibit integrity, discretion, and a strong work ethic while avoiding negativity, gossip, or complaints.

This role demands someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and is eager to grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external HR-related inquiries, ensuring efficient and thoughtful responses.
  • Manages Leaves of Absence, ensuring compliance and seamless communication with employees and managers.
  • Maintains meticulous employee records (payroll, personal information, leaves, etc.), ensuring accuracy and compliance with all employment regulations.
  • Proactively collaborates with other departments (payroll, benefits, etc.) to streamline processes and resolve issues.
  • Owns the on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires and departing employees.
  • Leads Workers’ Compensation claims, managing the process from start to finish by ensuring timely reporting, conducting investigations, and collaborating with insurance carriers and medical professionals. Provides updates and support to both employees and management to ensure claims are handled smoothly.
  • Responds promptly to unemployment claims.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in performance management processes, offering proactive support and coaching.
  • Proactively schedules meetings, interviews, HR events, and training sessions while maintaining a well-organized agenda.
  • Leads and coordinate training, safety meetings, and seminars, actively seeking feedback to improve content and delivery.
  • Conducts new hire orientations, focus groups, and exit interviews to gather insights and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champions performance management, data analytics, and documentation, ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization.
  • Spearheads initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention, collaborating with leaders on action plans and follow-up.
  • Builds strong relationships with Regional Directors and Executive Directors, offering guidance on improving workplace culture and productivity.
  • Acts as a trusted resource for Employee Relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and recommending solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, proactively addressing potential concerns before they arise.
  • Takes ownership of employee recognition programs, always seeking creative ways to celebrate and motivate the team.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and elevate the employee experience.
  • Actively participates in ad-hoc HR projects and continuously seek out opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Performs additional duties with enthusiasm, always seeking to go above and beyond the expectations of the role.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or related fields, with a proven track record of taking initiative and exceeding expectations.

·        Leading Workers’ Compensation is a must.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with HRIS systems; experience with ATS software
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to the audience and proactively address concerns.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to self-direct, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities without supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships while maintaining a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and offer effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain focused, driven, and positive, with zero tolerance for gossip.
  • A passion for continuous learning, always looking to take on new responsibilities and develop professionally.
  • Experience in Assisted Living, Hospice, Recuperative Care, or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
