Description of Job Duties
The House Attendant will be responsible for keeping public areas clean, running laundry, and providing assistance to room attendants while making sure to follow a comprehensive cleaning process throughout the hotel and property in accordance with Company standards.
Core Functions
- Adhere to Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests.
- Run laundry, including delivering laundry to neighboring properties.
- Clean lobby, exterior windows, hallways, walkways, railings, stairwells, ice and vending machines.
- Empty housekeeper’s trash.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including trash bins, light fixtures, furniture, and exterior of guest room doors.
- Utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and in accordance with property specific guidelines for completing the job safely.
- Report any missing/found articles or damage that is in need of immediate attention to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Maintain complete security of all keys assigned. Return the key at the end of shift. Never leave property with hotel keys.
- Turn mattresses as assigned.
- Shampoo carpets as assigned.
- Assist maintenance department with basic repairs (plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years previous experience in housekeeping, laundry, and/or janitorial services (preferred).
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Mental and Physical Demands
- Frequent: Standing and walking during entire shift. Kneeling, squatting, and bending constantly. Pushing up to 50lbs. Pulling, lifting, carrying, or otherwise moving up to 50lbs. Frequent use of hand, wrist, and other manual dexterity in use throughout shift. Exposure to EAP approved cleaning chemicals, dust, and smells.
- Occasional: Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).
