Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in driving the financial operations of Oxford Instruments, Americas (OIA). You'll take full ownership of the Balance Sheet and P&L for multiple business units, using your accounting expertise to analyze complex financial data and create impactful reports. As part of a collaborative team of passionate professionals, you'll have the opportunity to innovate and uncover new ways to boost efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. Key responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional accuracy and timeliness in monthly reconciliations, maintain strong relationships with internal business partners and cross-functional teams, and consistently meet strict deadlines for month-end close and weekly reporting. They will also be skilled at implementing task/process efficiencies and driving continuous improvement in financial operations.

Key responsibilities:
- Perform reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts in connection with the monthly close
- Review P&L, explaining trends and variances and making accrual entries as necessary
- Assist in completing the monthly reporting packages
- Answer accounting and financial questions by research and interpretation of data
- Prepare Journal entries and reconciliations
- Weekly report submissions
- Administer Company Credit Cards
- Perform Concur Travel and Expense accounting point of contact duties
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial information for non-financial management.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position
- Maintain detailed support ledgers and documentation, such as fixed asset registers, and reconciliations to ledger balances.
- Prepare work papers and schedules in support of External Audit requirements as needed
- Other duties as required

Key Capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 5 years of relevant experience (or a combination of education and experience).
- Strong background in bank reconciliations and Accounts Payable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate or Expert level, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience providing high-quality, customer-focused service within an accounting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a varied workload in an organized, accurate manner.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Infor SyteLine is a plus.
