Oxford Solutions has a client looking for a Mechanical Drafter.
The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating and detailing fabrication and erection drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, with experience in a steel service center being highly preferred. This role requires an eye for detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed fabrication and erection drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review drawings, ensuring all designs meet the necessary requirements and making revisions as needed.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM).
- Conduct quality checks on all drawings and designs to ensure they are free from errors and meet the required standards.
- Work closely with the fabrication and erection teams to ensure that all drawings are correctly interpreted and implemented during the manufacturing process.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest drafting techniques, software advancements, and industry trends to continually improve drafting processes and outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or a related field is required.
- 1-3 years of experience in CAD design, preferably within a steel service center or related industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
- Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to identify potential issues in designs and work proactively to resolve them.
