Long term contract opportunity for a Technical Writer. Looking for someone with a technical degree and industry background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science. Prior experience in rail transportation, telecommunications, HVAC or military preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical information and insights.
- Create clear, concise, and accurate operation and maintenance manuals.
- Develop training materials, including instructor and student guides.
- Create engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations for training purposes.
- Organize and maintain documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
- Review and edit existing technical documentation for accuracy and clarity.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to improve documentation quality.
- Adapt documentation to various audiences, from technical experts to non-technical users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Previous experience as a Technical Writer in rail transportation, telecommunications, HVAC, or military sectors is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in using documentation and presentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of a graphics tool such as Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
