POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Bartender position is to provide oversight under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, and coordinate production of all drinks produced for the hotel. Monitors the work of Bartenders and Servers to ensure production, performance, procedures and finished products meet quality standards, reporting back to management any opportunity's for improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.
Food and Beverage Service (80%): Setting up the bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies, prepare and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers, ringing in guest checks, collecting cash and processing credits and room charges, maintains knowledge of bar inventory and wine selection to respond properly to customer questions, ensures the proper cleaning and stocking of the bar area.
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
Training and Administration (10%): Assist with training of new Bartenders and Cocktail Servers. Provide guidance on best practices and company culture and lead by example, assist in creation and implementation of new drink menu items, completing beverage and supply inventory, Supply orders.
Guest Relations (5%): Interact with front of the house employees as to changes and requests of guests. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guest exchanges.
Other (5%): Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services, coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Chef and Beverage Manager and General Manager on things requiring attention, will provide daily guidance and information related to guest bookings, staff changes when F & B Manager is not available.
