Cutting Room Assistant

Assist the Cutting Room Manager in maintaining work flow processes and tracking incoming/outgoing fabrics and pieces.

Job Duties

• · Coordinate and allocate work to ensure that cutters have an adequate amount of consistent work throughout the day
• · Follow daily cutting list of rushes and late items, ensuring that pieces are cut and sent to shops by deadlines
• · Remove and return all fabric bolts and book folds to and from correct bins daily
• · Match special orders to cut lengths ordered, and fill out specific cutter sheet for appropriate items
• · Keep a daily count of special orders and stock cut
• · Keep record of items cut by specific cutters
• · Pull and file stock, special, and customer’s own patterns daily
• · Maintain stock and fabrics in an organized manner, making it easier to locate materials to recut missing or damaged parts
• · Pull cutter’s bundles and patterns for repairs and missing or damaged parts
• · Responsible for occasional projects which include cutting yardage into wraps
• · Take monthly inventory of missing/outstanding fabrics

Job Requirements

• · Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• · Must possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• · Must possess the ability to use job related hand tools (stapler, scissors, needle/thread, pins, tailors chalk, etc.)
• · Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with managers and coworkers
• · Must demonstrate proven experience in meeting goals and deadlines
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have a valid Social Security number

Education Requirement
High school diploma or GED

One to two years of related work experience (required)
