We are looking for an experienced and innovative leader to fill the position ofAI Ethics & Risk Managerwithin ourAI Center of Excellencegroup based inHouston, TX.This position will initially have no direct reports but the plan is for it to have direct reports as the organization grows.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain a risk management framework to track and minimize AI project risk across a portfolio of projects.
- Create and maintain the ethical AI policy and frameworks at Oxy.
- Work with project managers and product owners to maintain the highest ethical and responsible AI standards.
- Maintain relationships to all relevant external organizations including governmental regulatory bodies.
- Conduct all necessary compliance reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, STEM, business orrelated discipline is required
- PhD or Master's degree in computer science, STEM, business or related disciplineis preferred
- A minimum of 7 years of experience and/or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in AI ethics or risk management.Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to AI privacy and security.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Collaborative business-minded and practical attitude.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI).
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Certified in Amazon Web services (AWS) cloud provider is highly preferred.
- Certified in agile scrum project management is preferred.
