We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our team in Ludington, Michigan.
The successful candidate will support the plant's engineering department with design projects, creating accurate drawings and documentation.
Responsibilities include:
• Creating drawings of existing/new equipment and pipe routings
• Assisting engineering staff with design projects
• Utilizing process piping knowledge for pipe design/drawing development
• Developing design output documents including P&IDs, plan/section views, elevation and isometric sketches
• Creating AutoCAD & Navisworks drawings of structural, piping, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Handling customization of AutoCAD workstations, managing plotting, transfer of files, importing or converting other CAD file formats
• Participating in QA/QC audit processes and resolving field review discrepancies
Qualifications include:
• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of design and drafting experience or equivalent work history
• Working knowledge of CADD software (2D as well as 3D)
• Expertise of piping construction codes and practices
• Knowledge of fabrication methods and processes preferred
