Description

  • We prefer to have candidates with microbiologist degree that are beginning entry little to no experience at all. We will train them and they can grow with us. 
  • Also we are very open to any technicians that have laboratory experience, are familiar with basic procedures, and GLP. 
  • Work hours will be Monday through Friday 9-5pm. Some saturdays may be required. 
  • Pay will be entry level as it is now for current employees. 
  • Need to hire replacements asap to plan for the transfer accordingly. 

 

Missions

  • To perform tests for Finished Goods (FG), Work in Progress (WIP), Packaging (PKG), bulk (BULK), and raw materials (RAW) to ensure product quality is maintained in compliance to specification.

Scope

  • Testing of FG, WIPs, BULK, PKG, and RAW for all materials under the supervision of Oxygen Development.

Functions

  1. Perform micro testing on raw materials, bulk, WIPs, PKG, FG and DI Water according to SOPs.
  2. Daily Media and Agar preparation for microbiological testing.
  3. Daily pH testing of media and agars, sterilization of media and decontamination of biological waste.
  4. Ensure that laboratory equipment is in good operating condition and that daily verifications are done as needed.
  5. Complete all required documentation for full traceability.
  6. Ensure that samples are plated in accordance with approved routings and that results are updated on an ongoing basis in Oracle.
  7. Comply with and ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices.
  8. Ensure the microbiology laboratory is clean and organized. Implement the 5S in the laboratory.
  9. Report micro failures results to the QC Laboratory Manager immediately. Document each non-conformance by following the Non-Conforming SOP (Issuance of a Non-Conformance number, description of the non-conformance, and corrective action / return to vendor instruction if applicable) after conducting a gazebo in a timely manner with involved parties (Warehouse, Production, Purchasing). Ensure that retest samples are collected by the microbiologists.
  10. Ensure DI Water is tested daily, and logs are properly filled out.
  11. Work rotating schedules when required by the direct supervisor.
  12. Participate in Training Programs as required.
  13. Maintain supply inventory for micro lab.
  14. Collect DI Water and Alcohol as needed for daily Laboratory use.
  15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  1. % lots failing micro (first test).
  2. % of lots failing the retest.
  3. Number of samples plated the same day they are received.
  4. % of samples plated the same day they are received.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Microbiology Preferred.
  • Min of 1 Year of Laboratory Experience (Preferably in Microbiology) required.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as Microbiologist Technician or Laboratory Technician in manufacturing environment; or
  • Combination of experience and education.
