Job Overview
New employees, in their first year of employment, will be paid a sign on bonus of $2500 payable in 2 payments. The first payment will occur after 90 days of employment, and the second will occur at the end of the school year.
We offer great pay at $26.74 dollars per hour, a competitive benefits package with medical, dental, term life and long-term disability, 403b with annuity, 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid sick time, and up to a $1000 annual perfect attendance bonus!
We also offer a guaranteed work week. With a choice of weekly hours up to 20, 25 or 30, and possible summer work too!
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting children to their designated locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle according to established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Assist passengers, including children and seniors, in boarding and disembarking the vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Manage passenger behavior effectively during transit to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate clearly in English with passengers, parents, and staff regarding schedules, routes, and any changes.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately, including incident reports and daily logs.
Job requirements a valid NH CDL-B, School Bus Certificate, and a current NH DOT physical card. If you are not already licensed, ORCSD Transportation has licensed driver instructors available to train those who are interested.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with paratransit services is a plus.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in a childcare or school bus driving environment.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to transportation services.
