What are the responsibilities and job description for the Handy Man position at Oz. Tap House?
Overview
We are seeking a Handy Man/Painter to rehab picnic tables. This job would include reinforcing, sanding, pressure washing and painting 10x 8' picnic tables. We will pay $25/hour (max 50 hours). We will supply paint, sandpaper, pressure washer and hardware. We have tools but having your own tools is preferred. After this job is complete and if we feel you qualify and have the skillset we are looking for, we would love to continue hiring you for many future maintenance jobs between the two Oz. Tap House restaurant locations. We currently have one restaurant in the Four Points area of Northwest Austin and we're opening our second restaurant location in Bee Cave this summer!
Responsibilities
- Must be bonded and insured
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on two restaurant locations inside and outside.
- will be notified of issues that require maintenance/repair.
- Utilize tools and equipment effectively, including the use of an Ohmmeter for electrical tasks.
- Repair fixtures, fittings, and appliances as needed.
- Assist with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other maintenance services
- Quarterly preventative maintenance
- Pressure Washing
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on progress.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Handy Man or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with various hand tools and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and light carpentry.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
