Job Description Summary: Minimum starting salary $23.56 / hour
The QMHP is a qualified mental health professional who is responsible for ensuring that clinical services are delivered in a trauma informed and person-centered manner. The QMHP is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of therapeutic services. This position is responsible for the assessment of client needs for community-based treatment and the delivery of individual and group services in the school setting. The QMHP will demonstrate the ability to work with individuals with a range of behavioral health issues, including mental health, trauma, and substance use. The QMHP will demonstrate an empathic and warm attitude, conveying a message of recovery and hope to individuals served. The QMHP will work with school staff regarding supporting clients in reaching their goals as needed and as releases of information allow. The QMHP reports to the Director of Pediatric Services.
Education:
- A Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling from an accredited college or university.
Responsibilities:
- Performs screenings and assessments, and develops person-centered goals with clients in treatment.
- Provides effective treatment of individual service needs, utilizing evidence-based practice skills and based on clients’ assessed life skill needs.
- Offers group education in a community mental health setting, based on assessed client needs as identified by the community mental health programs.
- Demonstrates the use of motivational interviewing techniques and recovery-based engagement tools for improving client outcomes.
- Provides responsive crisis services for clients during regular daytime operations.
- Communicates client issues and needs to treatment teams to promote continuity of care between other programs and providers of the Center, and, as appropriate, outside providers.
- Completes all required documentation within established timeframes and according to quality standards set by State and Federal regulations, CARF certifications, and program expectations.
- Demonstrates good time management to manage multiple and simultaneous deadlines.
- Achieves or exceeds established contact expectations for billing.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Standard office environment.
- Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level frequently, climbing and twisting occasionally.
- Requires a typical range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
- Requires repetitive use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation.
- Requires standing, sitting, or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per workday.
- Requires ability to work under stressful conditions, to adapt to changing schedules, and to effectively resolve conflict.
- Requires regular use of a computer.
