Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various systems and equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be a team player able to work autonomously, communicate effectively and responsibly. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in first class condition.
Responsibilities
- Survey and conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Perform grounds keeping maintenance (maintaining ingress/egress points, policing parking garage for debris etc.)
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and inventory.
- Fabricate and weld components as necessary for repairs or modifications.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion.
- Estimate time and extent of repairs.
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and safety measures.
- Proficiency in plumbing and HVAC systems, including pipe installation, heating and cooling equipment, and safety protocols.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Manual dexterity and problem solving skills.
- Good physical condition and ability to handle physical workload with a willingness to work overtime.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Experience with CMMS is preferred but not required.
- Ability to fabricate and weld metal components effectively.
- Familiarity with reading schematics and technical drawings.
- Leadership skills with experience supervising teams is a plus.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
