Ozark Fiber seeks a Field Technician for Lebanon, MO and surrounding areas.
Job Description
This position is responsible for installing and troubleshooting broadband internet and telephone service in designated markets, and includes without limitation:
- Following all standardized processes and procedures.
- Completing all training programs as required.
- Installing and troubleshooting internet and phone services.
- Completion of work orders on-time and with quality workmanship.
- Providing on-site technical support and guidance to customers.
- Extending wiring from outside of the customer’s home to inside CPE, including fishing wires in attics, walls, and crawl spaces.
- Installing fiber termination panels and wall plates.
- Installing and provisioning ONTs, routers/gateways, and range extenders.
- Performing various tests to verify connections and service performance
- Participating in an on-call rotation.
- Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment, observing all company state and federal standards.
- Problem solving and evaluating all options to avoid suspending work.
This position will initially report to the Company’s Operations Manager, but may report to other leadership in the future.
Experience and Skills
- Able to drive company vehicle in accordance with company policy.
- Valid Class E driver’s license.
- Arrive at work on time and in proper work attire.
- Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and grow.
- Takes pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to differentiate colors, shades, and brightness levels.

- Knowledge of wireless networking installation & troubleshooting preferred.

- Results-oriented with attention to detail, creative thinking, displaying a high degree of flexibility and personal accountability.
- Able to work well with others and interact respectfully with both internal and external customers.
- Flexibility to work overtime and on-call as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, work on a ladder, work in small and confined spaces, and lift up to 80 lbs.
- Works both inside and outside and is exposed to all weather conditions.
- Wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures. Attends required safety and training courses.
- Works in various types of buildings and surroundings, i.e., basements, attics, residences, offices, etc., and has frequent contact with customers.
