Are you passionate about the bar industry and eager to learn the craft of bartending? Ozark Hills Winery is looking for a hardworking and motivated Bar Back / Apprentice Bartender to join our team! This role is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to break into the world of bartending by learning the fundamentals from experienced professionals.
As a Bar Back, you’ll provide essential support to our bartenders, ensuring the bar runs smoothly. Over time, you’ll gain hands-on experience with mixology, customer service, and bar operations, preparing you for a future role as a bartender.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, and other bar supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including washing glassware, wiping down surfaces and bussing floor.
- Pouring flights if the customer is not already in the wine room with a wine tender.
- Prepare garnishes, refill ice bins, and ensure stations are wellstocked.
- Keep track of bar inventory and notify management when supplies are low.
- Learn the basics of cocktail preparation and assist with simple drinkmaking tasks.
- Refill the bar snack machines, break them down and sanitation of them.
- Clean the beer taps and beer machine.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
- General cleaning of both bar and wine room (sweep, mop)
- Responsible for bottling, labeling, waxing and sanitation of the portlike wine.
- Sanitation, set up and break down of any wine walls. Responsible for keeping the wine wall station stocked and clean.
- Possible light bartending by the “OHW Way”.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced, highenergy environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Previous restaurant or bar experience is a plus but not required.
