POSITION SUMMARY:
The Barista role is responsible for creating and delivering a genuine hospitable experience to all guests through coffee, drinks and food. This person upholds the mission of The Workshop at Finley Farms to build a sense of community over coffee and through crafts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Barista and Bartending duties such as crafting and preparing a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and cocktails.
- Preparing and serving food to the quality standards of the shop and the health department.
- Mindfully operating the espresso machine, POS and other equipment professionally.
- Representing the vision of Finley Farms and the Workshop.
- Assisting customers in the selection of menu offering and retail.
- Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
- Maintaining a clean, professional work environment.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- At least one year of experience working as a barista, bartender, and/or food preparation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Know and comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Writing - Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
- Guest and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services. This includes guest’s needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.
- Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.

- Regular walking, standing, lifting up to 50lbs etc.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
- Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
