Ozark Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a motivated professional that is passionate about early childhood education. We are urgently hiring for four positions.
The Child Care Teacher role is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children in compliance with CCDF standards and all relevant state and local regulations. The teacher will foster the growth and learning of young children, promote positive behavior, and engage children in meaningful activities that support their emotional, social, and intellectual development.
This position is 12 months in a year, the center will be closed for 2 weeks in the summer, 1 week for winter break, and 1 week for Spring Break. During these closures, the employees are furloughed. Furloughed employees are able and encouraged to draw unemployment during these times. This position is eligible for health benefits, paid leave, and retirement plan after the probationary period is served. There is also a total of 15 paid holidays these teachers will receive.
Within the first year of employment, you will be required to obtain CDA and CPR credentials, this is training that Ozark Opportunities, Inc. provides for employees.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate care and education to children in accordance with CCDF and state licensing requirements.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- At all times supervise and ensure the safety of all children in the classroom and on outdoor play areas.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s progress and communicate observations with parents/guardians as required.
- Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships with children and families.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and organization, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in preparing meals and snacks, ensuring all dietary and allergy considerations are addressed.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and management.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance program quality and participate in team meetings.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all children and family information.
- Ensure compliance with CCDF funding requirements, including attendance and participation documentation.
- Mandated reporter of suspected cases of Child Abuse and Neglect.
We expect qualified candidates to have previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting. Knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles. Strong communication skills with both children and adults. Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive, supportive attitude. Familiarity with CCDF regulations and policies is preferred but not required.
They must have an active and unhindered Driver’s License with personal reliable transportation, a high school diploma or equivalent. Successfully pass Criminal Background including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.
Physical Requirements: The Child Care Teacher will work with toddlers in a classroom setting. The physical demands include standing, bending, kneeling, and interacting with children on their level. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., helping children with mobility) and have agility around classroom furniture and materials. Occasional driving to training.
