SUMMARY: Responsible for operating the Can Packaging equipment (GPI and Douglas packers) at levels of beverage quality and production efficiency as determined by management. Can Packer operators are required to operate and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for packaging, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and sanitation of area. All aspects and requirements of GMP and Food Safety are included.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Physical handling of product, materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Adhere to startup/end of run procedures, packaging responsibilities and changeovers.
- Operating equipment required for the can packer.
- Inspection of trays to ensure they are acceptable for use.
- Maintain machine speed at optimum operating levels.
- Adhere to good manufacturing and safety standards.
- Responsible for meeting productivity requirements.
- Maintain orderly and clean work area to comply with Company safety and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Complete package quality testing and record results
- Other duties as assigned or requested.

COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. One (1) year general work experience
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports and work instruction. Ability to respond to common inquires.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematics is needed to determine carton and tray quantities.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Close attention to detail required to verify product..
- Computer Skills: Basic Computer knowledge
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Forklift License.
