SEASNAL SUMMER DAY CAMP DIRECTOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Summer Day Camp Director at Ozarks Regional YMCA ensures that childcare programs meet community needs including supervising existing program activities and meeting its intended goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for programming and management of PT staff at assigned location: leadership with support and strategic planning; curriculum implementation, quality control and safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to program participants and their guardians/families.
- Plan and implement sound youth programming in a safe, enjoyable environment which ensures social, spiritual, and mental development.
- Oversee campers and staff in various settings and on a wide variety of weekly activities.
- Provide and adhere to safety guidelines as established by the Association.
- Maintain daily, weekly & monthly paperwork & meet submission deadlines
- Ensure effective written & verbal communication between staff, participants and guardians.
- Role model outstanding leadership.
- Model relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and caregivers, and community organizations to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- And all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- One to two years related experience leading or providing care for children is preferred
- Must be available throughout the summer (May-August)
- Requires successful completion of staff trainings prior to beginning camp June 23, 2025
- Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis
- CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within first 30 days (training can be provided)
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Complete and pass both FCSR & fingerprint background screening
- Documentation of state required medical exam and TB Risk Assessment within 30 days
- Must learn and adhere to all State Licensing Requirements
- Comply with all Food Program requirements & understand Federal Funding connection
- Wear staff uniform & name badge
- Reliable transportation required
