Position Summary
The Provost / Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the college, providing strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for all academic and academic support functions. This role is central to ensuring academic excellence, fostering innovation in teaching and learning, and advancing the college's mission and strategic priorities. The Provost is responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, and assessment of academic programs and services, as well as the alignment of resources to achieve institutional goals.
Essential Job Duties
- Serve as the Chief Academic Officer, providing leadership in defining and implementing the college's academic vision and strategic priorities.
- Act as a key member of the Chancellor's cabinet, contributing to the development and execution of the college's Strategic Plan.
- Maintain a strong focus on business, industry, and community needs from a workforce perspective and align academic programs to meet demand.
- Lead long-range planning for academic programs, faculty development, and academic facilities to align with the College's mission and goals.
- Direct the evaluation and continuous improvement of academic and academic support programs through data-driven assessment and accreditation compliance.
- Ensure adherence to state, regional, and national accreditation standards, maintaining a culture of academic integrity and excellence.
- Oversee integrated planning and budgeting for academic affairs, including resource allocation to support institutional priorities.
- Guide curriculum development, program review, and instructional delivery, ensuring alignment with workforce needs and higher education best practices.
- Foster partnerships with other colleges, universities, and external organizations, including administrative oversight of articulation agreements and clinical partnerships.
- Provide administrative oversight of all academic operations at other OTC campuses and education centers, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Strategically oversee academic facilities to optimize physical resources and support innovative teaching and learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote and sustain a culture of academic excellence.
- Collaborate with the office of communications and marketing to highlight and advance academic programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate the development and approval of the academic calendar through shared governance.
- Represent academic affairs in community and professional engagements, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance, punctuality, and adherence to college policies.
- Perform other high-level responsibilities as assigned by the Chancellor.
