About the Position:

The Lead Medicolegal Death Investigator is a senior-level position within the Medical Examiner's Office, responsible for overseeing death investigations and ensuring that they are conducted with accuracy and respect. This position requires a strong understanding of forensic science, investigative techniques, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategies for death investigations, including determining cause and manner of death
  • Provides guidance and support to junior investigators
  • Collaborates with Medical Examiner and other investigators to gather information and evidence
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of death investigations
  • Ensures that all death investigations are conducted in accordance with state and federal regulations

Requirements:

  • Requires 3-5 years' experience in death investigations
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology, forensic science, and investigative techniques
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
