Veterans Transportation Driver
Ozaukee County is seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to join our team as a Veterans Transportation Driver. This on-call, volunteer position requires a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and proof of up-to-date vehicle insurance policy.
Job Summary:
As a Veterans Transportation Driver, you will be responsible for transporting Ozaukee County veterans to and from VA medical appointments, utilizing your personal vehicle. You will also provide minimal assistance to veterans with transfer from wheelchair/walker to/from vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Transport veterans to and from VA medical appointments
- Provide minimal assistance to veterans with transfer from wheelchair/walker to/from vehicle
- Respond to availability inquiries within 24 hours
Requirements:
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required
- Proof of up-to-date vehicle insurance policy required
- Ability to assist veterans into and out of vehicle
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to adverse weather conditions for short periods of time
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is $18.91 per trip, plus $9.46 for each additional passenger.
