What You’ll Do
Indirect Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and submit indirect tax returns (e.g., sales & use tax, GST, excise) within deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal indirect tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor and manage indirect tax audits, providing necessary support and documentation to tax authorities.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize Ozinga’s indirect tax position.
- Identify potential tax risks and opportunities, advising on mitigation strategies.
- Analyze and provide guidance on new business initiatives, contracts, and system changes.
- Assess and enhance indirect tax systems, tools, and processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Support the implementation of new tax-related technology or software.
- Develop and maintain internal indirect tax policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource to HR, billing, and accounting teams on indirect tax matters.
- Work closely with legal, finance, supply chain, and operations to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Taxation and CPA/CTA preferred.
- Experience: 6 years in indirect tax, with expertise in compliance, audits, and tax planning.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of indirect tax laws and experience with tax technology & ERP systems.
- Abilities: Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic Leadership: Play a key role in Ozinga’s tax strategy and compliance initiatives.
