Ozinga is hiring a Tax Accountant to join our Family Office team, which supports our multi-entity, privately held company and its owners. Join us as our new Tax Accountant and take on a key role in a team that thrives on collaboration and innovative thinking in its tax and accounting work.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Planning
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns (partnership, S-corp, individual, and trust)
- Help with quarterly tax estimates and payments
- Maintain fixed asset tax depreciation records
- Respond to tax notices and assist with audits
- Research tax rules and help solve tax issues
- Assist with general accounting tasks
- Help test and implement new tax tools
- Work with the Senior Tax Manager, Senior Tax Specialist and Lead Accountant to create process improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Accounting, Tax, or Finance)
- CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred
- 2 years of experience in tax accounting (public accounting experience a big plus!)
- Knowledge of tax, accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with tax preparation software (CCH Axcess is a plus)
- Detail-focused and organized
- Clear communicator and good with deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn and grow
- Tech-savvy with confidence to embrace and champion new software
- Professional and trustworthy with confidential information
- Positive and proactive
