What are the responsibilities and job description for the CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT position at P.A. Landers, Inc.?
Manage heavy highway road (Mass DOT) projects, as well work with project teams including project managers, engineers, forepersons, field personnel, and other office departments to complete projects on time and on budget with the desired level of quality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years experience as a superintendent in public roadway and civil construction
- Preferred experience in working with Mass DOT, other state and government agencies, as well as cities and towns
- Proficient with iPad/tablet using Microsoft Office products, as well as email and other digital communications
- MA hoisting license required
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job is a plus
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus
- Construction supervisor license is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is a plus
Duties:
· Oversee day to day operations of specified job, and following proper reporting procedures
· Schedule & manage crews and subcontractors in assistance with the project manager
· Report daily production quantities
· Ability and experience to set line and grade, along with other surveying tasks
· Ability and experience to properly manage quality and cost controls
· Ability to labor or operate heavy equipment if required
· Follow by strict OSHA standards, to ensure safe working environment
· Work directly with the home office regarding paperwork submittals, change orders, materials back up, etc.
· Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule
· Responsible for site safety, ensuring the jobsite is safe for workers as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies
· Work with project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other costs
· Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and other project data
· Conduct on-site meetings with subcontractors and construction field personnel
· Management and supervision of work crews on-site including: mentor and train field personnel trainees, manage foreman and their duties and ensure all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently, manage overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely
