Local Driver – Day Shift opening (40 hrs/week)

We currently have a full time opportunity for a Delivery Driver.

We are looking for applicants with at least one year of truck driving experience of a 16 ft. or longer straight truck. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Needs reliable transportation, and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, move, and/or carry up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand or may use hand truck type equipment. Employee will regularly drive a delivery truck and must be able to enter and exit the truck throughout the day.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience driving a 16 ft or longer straight truck is preferred

- Must be at least 21 years of age

- Must have a valid driver’s license

- Must have good driving record

- Must be able to read and navigate a map

- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Be able to follow a route given or use truck navigation to assure best route

- Must have self-discipline to work under minimal supervision and also be a team player

- Must have great customer service skills and able to engage customers face-to-face

- Great verbal and written communication skills

- Knowledge of safe work practices

- Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather

-Ability to drive designated route in all weather and road conditions safely

-Ability to work in a fast paced environment with time constraints in a safe manner

- Must be able to pass a background and/or drug screening

Job duties include:

- Requires operation of forklift, pallet jacks, overhead cranes.
- Blueprint reading skills

-Inspect parts to verify conformance to prints

- Gathering all paperwork appropriate for deliveries

- Deliver product per customer request (i.e, receiving doors, front desk, Suite 100, etc.) and complete and collect all paperwork and/or signatures for the required paperwork

- Loading and unloading trucks, at times

- Maintain a clean vehicle and report any maintenance issues immediately

- Address and resolve customer problems, if appropriate. Report back to supervisor

- Working well with team members in the warehouse

- Working efficiently and in a timely manner while on deliveries

- Ability to work flexible hours
