P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc. is seeking a part time KAU Parent Educator to facilitate community-based parenting education classes to further our mission of strengthening families and promoting cycles of positive parenting.

Parenting classes are held at varied times and days and facilitators are needed for daytime, evening and/or Saturday groups. Parent Educators may facilitate one or more weekly classes.

The Parent Educator is responsible for:

• Facilitation of parenting classes through the use of an agency approved curriculum and classroom management techniques
• Parent Educators work cooperatively with Management, co-workers and program participants to provide quality assurance for programs
• This position requires individuals with the knowledge, skill and ability to work with adults in a group setting
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work without direct supervision
• Must adhere to all company policies
• Paperwork requirements must be met on or before established deadlines
• Must be proficient with MS Office products, including Word and Excel

**Must be able to travel to locations where groups are held in and around the greater Hilo area. CLASS WILL BE HELD IN PERSON FOR EITHER PAHOA, KAU OR CLASS WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM. Must retain appropriate levels of motor vehicle insurance as mandated by agency and/or contractual requirements**

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in working with parents/caregivers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss.

Preferred:

• Experience facilitating groups or classes

Salary is commensurate with education and experience ($20-$24 hourly)
