Job Summary: The Monitor at P.E.A.R.L. WITH YOU INC. will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves maintaining patient well-being in a positive, supportive, and structured environment. The technician is responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring supervision at specified intervals, in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines and special precautions as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health conditions
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Monitor and document patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
- Conduct crisis interventions and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and meal preparation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding patient safety and deliver excellent customer service.
Ensure the well-being of patients within a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
Conduct safety checks and supervise patients at specified intervals (e.g., 15-minute intervals) as per special precautions or individualized supervision guidelines.
Maintain accurate documentation of observations and interventions.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience or training in mental health care or related fields preferred.
Strong sense of responsibility and urgency related to patient safety.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and create a supportive environment.
Proficiency in conducting safety checks and adhering to supervision guidelines.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical documentation and recordkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles and techniques
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to administer medications following established protocols and guidelines
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and monitoring patient well-being
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with adults in a mental health setting
- Certification or licensure in addiction counseling or related field
