What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at P.G. Chambers School?
Seeking a Part Time School Psychologist with positive behavior support experience (PBSIS). Would also consider School Social Worker with similar experience.
Primary Responsibility: To provide support and consultation to program staff and families to further the positive development of each child.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Participate in an informal assessment of a child’s social and emotional development within the family context.
- Provide individual and family-group support with identified students and family members.
- Provide families with information, strategies, and support related to enhancing the skill development of the child.
- Provide information and guidance to staff and parents to support each child’s positive social -emotional development. This includes facilitation of specialized techniques and positive behavioral interventions.
- Organize and run parent and sibling support groups
- Participate in trans-disciplinary education and intervention planning
- Student case management and school district liaison
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in psychology
- NJ School Psychologist Certificate
- Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred.
- Understanding of child development and family dynamics
- Experience using positive behavioral supports and conducting behavioral assessment
