Job description
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position will be responsible for efficiently controlling the raw materials and replenishing process.
- Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Conduct a complete pre- and post-shift safety inspection daily.
- Responsible for knowing aggregate products.
- Able to estimate weight when loading trucks either visually or grade, maintain stockpiles.
- Load customer trucks in a safe and accurate manner.
- Communicate with customer truck drivers in a helpful and courteous manner to ensure quality service.
- Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic.
- Responsible for lubrication of truck and performing minor repairs on equipment
- Other job duties as assigned.
This position will be based at the Chico Quarry, located in Chico, TX.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Prefer high school diploma or general education (GED)
- Prefer two years of heavy equipment experience
- Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience is a plus
- MSHA training a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting– The operator will be required to work extended periods of time in the same position while operating equipment. This can be up to 87% of the workday.
- Lifting Requirements- Operator must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. These functions are repeated at a minimum of 3 times a day during Pre-Shift Inspections, Midday Servicing of the machine, and Post-Shift Inspections.
- Gross Motor Skills-
- A)The operator will be required to effectively use his/her motor skills throughout the course of their workday. These skills include standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist, and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting. The Operator must demonstrate theability to maintain 3 points of contact while mounting and dismounting equipment via steps and ladders and must also demonstrate the ability to maintain balance while performing these activities. The Operator must also be able to tolerate working at heights. These skills will be used a minimum of 13% of the workday
- B)Additionally, the Operator will be required to perform repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder. These skills will be required to be used 100% of the workday.
- Environmental Conditions- perform duties in all climates i.e., weather, extreme temperatures, work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
