The Maintenance Supervisor shall also be responsible for improving the efficiency and performance of the Maintenance Team at the Mill Creek Quarry.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing detailed work plans in line with maintenance strategies and mine requirements as set out by the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor shall also be responsible for improving the efficiency and performance of the Maintenance Team at the Mill Creek Quarry.
- Be a safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Manage work backlogs for accuracy, taking into consideration requirements related to parts, labor, support equipment, special equipment, tooling, and instructions
- Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies
- Work regularly with maintainers to build or improve detailed work packages
- Assists in the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment, and their maintenance programs
- Responsible for ensuring that schedules developed by Management are being adhered to on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis, depending on the needs and maintenance recommendations of equipment manufacturers.
- The Maintenance Supervisor will utilize the work order backlog to select work orders for execution, giving priority to those jobs that will have an adverse effect on Personnel, Process, Property, or Production.
- Ensures that job deadlines are met and that Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules are assigned proper priority designations - gauge necessity of additional resources, and documentation of work progress.
- Assists in developing and disseminating detailed plans for extensive equipment repairs and overhauls; maintains oversight of the job plan and execution, tracks critical path during all projects and provides initial resource support and has direct input on activity scheduling for short term and long-term maintenance planning.
- Works with all site functions to develop procedures and work practices
- Assumes a leadership role in the day-to-day activities of the spare parts area
- Provides input into spare part stocking decisions based on receipt of work request, reviews scope of work, confirms job priority and requested completion dates and lead times.
- Establishes the minimum and maximum stock level for spare parts and ensure all the parts are on site when needed
- Work schedule is 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Friday with some weekend shifts.
- Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment.
- Must be able to identify parts for ordering (bearings, idlers, screens, pulleys)
- Previous Lead or Supervisory experience.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Proficiency with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Demonstrated proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus.
- Must be able to work 8-12 hour( ) shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in outdoor environment and in elevated areas.
- Must be willing to handle continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and/or pulling of controls.
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate to employees/visitors, as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
