Professional Dog Groomer

Job Summary

We are looking for a dog groomer to add to our busy salon. We are consistently booked out weeks at a time and need help with current clientele as well as new clientele. Full time or part time is available. P's and Q's Pet Resort is a new location that was an expansion for P's and Q's Dog Grooming, which has been a top grooming salon in Lutz for 9 years. Our brand new facility has features you can't find anywhere else. We have receptionists that handle 100% of the phone calls, appointment making, check ins and check outs. The groomer is just needed for consultations when a new client is checking in. We also have bathers help wash and dry some dogs for you, so you can focus on providing uninterrupted care to your dogs. Our facility also offers dog and cat boarding service and doggy daycare in an almost 10,000 sqft immaculate facility. We pride ourselves in our cleanliness, modern appearance, quality of grooms and excellent customer relations.

Pay and Benefits

• This is a W2 position paying 45% commission to start with evaluation after 1 month, plus 100% tips

Requirements

• Professional dog grooming experience is required. You must be fully trained and confident to deliver quality grooms of all breeds in both pet styles and breed standard styles. You must be proficient in clipper work and hand scissoring.
• You will have to be comfortable grooming at least 5 dogs a day of all sizes and breeds.
• Must have your own grooming tools, maintained and in good condition (clippers, scissors, blades, brushes). Supplies such as ear cleaner, cotton balls, colognes, dematting products, shampoos are all provided.
• Excellent customer service and friendly customer relations is a must. You are expected to consult with your clients on their haircut preferences, concerns and any special needs the pet may have.
• Must be dependable and show up for work on time with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services, including bathing, drying, and styling dogs' coats to meet client preferences.
• Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming sessions to ensure their comfort and safety.
• Assess the health and condition of pets, reporting any concerns to owners.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area.
• Offer excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and aftercare.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
