Responsibilities and Duties:
Provides effective leadership to the department and/or third-party contractors; Able to strategically identify, internalize and communicate the critical success factors necessary for the department to support organizational goals.
Works effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems at the department level.
Responsible for contractor oversite of all facilities. Manage responsibilities of inspecting, diagnosing, and testing of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and fire & life safety systems.
Plans and coordinates all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet regulatory, health and safety standards, including documented updates, issues and PM.
Inspects buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
Assists in the management of construction projects and improvements to the building.
Physical environment safety management. Overall responsibility for planning, implementation and management of regulatory compliance with Safety Program Management.
Be responsible for documentation for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to include State and Local Fire Marshal compliance.
Must be proficient and have good working knowledge of fire detection, fire suppression system and all life safety systems.
Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).
Assists in the development of disaster recovery plans for anticipated and unanticipated facilities problems that minimize or eliminate disruption in daily operations.
Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets for the department in collaboration with the department management and staff.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must have the following education, skills and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education Experience: High School Diploma/GED.
Experience: 3 years minimum of work experience in planning, repairing, and maintaining equipment and facilities in a healthcare facilities related setting.
Technical degree or certification highly preferred.
CHFM or CHSP Certification Preferred.
Driving Requirements: Because the incumbent may receive an auto allowance, be reimbursed for mileage, or drive a company vehicle, they must meet the following driving requirements:
Must be able to meet P1 Service qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
If driving a personal vehicle for business: Must have access to a well-maintained vehicle with an up-to-date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the incumbent and the vehicle must be currently covered by a personal insurance policy.
Some travel to local job sites may be required.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
