Summary
As a Staff Coach at P2 Soccer, you will play a vital role in shaping the skills and character of young soccer players. This position is essential for fostering a love for the game while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Successful candidates will have the ability to get to practices in Chicago and nearby Northern suburbs (Winnetka, Glenview, Highland Park, Deerfield).
Schedule
Staff coaches can pick their own schedule. You will be required to be on the field for 900 hours minimum per year. During spring, fall and winter winter we have classes taking place afternoons and weekends. During the Summer, we run day camps during office hours. We also offer one-day camps during public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance players' skills and understanding of the game.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages player development and teamwork.
- Conduct regular practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and fitness.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Organize and lead team activities, including matches and tournaments.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff regarding goals and expectations.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among all players.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in soccer or related sports.
- Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and strategies.
- Excellent behavior management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Ability to motivate young athletes while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with players and parents.
- Background in physical education or related fields is preferred.
