P3 is a well-established architectural steel fabricator in Phoenix, committed to excellence, delivering innovative solutions and high-quality results. We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Miscellaneous Steel Detailer & CNC Programmer (Fiber laser, press brake, etc.) to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Overview
The Miscellaneous Steel Detailer will play a crucial role in producing accurate and detailed drawings and specifications for our steel products and projects. You will work closely with our leadership team, GC’s, architects, designers and project managers to ensure that all miscellaneous steel components are designed to meet project requirements and industry standards, and perhaps most importantly, can be efficiently realized by our team of fabricators and machine operators.
Key Responsibilities
· Detailing: Create precise and detailed drawings for miscellaneous steel components, including beams, columns, supports, and custom steel fabrications.
· Coordination: Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that all steel details align with project specifications and requirements.
· Compliance: Ensure that all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
· Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including shop drawings, erection plans, and material lists.
· Quality Control: Review and verify drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and identify any potential issues before fabrication.
· Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any design discrepancies or technical issues that arise during the detailing process to ease fabrication and erection – if it can be improved, let’s improve it.
Skills
· Proven experience as a steel detailer with a strong portfolio of miscellaneous steel projects.
· Strong computer skills with high degree of proficiency in some, but not necessarily all of the following – MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, Autodesk Advanced Steel, Solidworks, AutoCad, Tekla Structures, SDS/2, Rhino, Grasshopper and Amada Suite or alternative CNC/laser machining programming.
· In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes, codes, and standards.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, project managers and fabricators.
· Relevant certification or degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
