Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to complete modeling of parts and assemblies, and creating drawings with appropriate dimensioning and tolerances, material properties, manufacturing processes, tool design and cost of production is required. As well as using analytical software, such as ANSYS to apply standard engineering principles to complete analytical efforts pertaining to thermal and structural analysis.

Key Results Areas:

1. Lead the 3D modeling phase of a project that consists of a modification to an existing product and support the 3D modeling phase of a clean sheet design. This work must be completed to meet technical and manufacturability requirements within budgetary and schedule constraints.

a. Function as part of the project team to create part models and assembly models that are used for engineering analysis and drawing creation. This will include oversight by more experienced Designers as appropriate.

b. Work with the manufacturing team to design the cost out of parts.

2. Create manufacturing drawing package from solid model geometry that will meet technical and manufacturability requirements within budgetary and schedule constraints.

a. Develop dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) expertise

b. Develop knowledge of manufacturing processes

3. Work with project team and manufacturing group during manufacturing phase of the project to disposition non-compliant parts. This will include oversight by more experienced Designers as appropriate.

4. Assemble prototype hardware and test rigs/fixtures

a. Work with test and assembly technicians on prototype assemblies. Use engineering knowledge to work through first build and test efforts.
