The Behavior/Housing Specialist oversees the Behavior Support and Housing Program of the agency, including but not limited to treating individuals with emotional or behavioral problems and disorders, providing supervision to behavioral health technicians, and providing Housing & Tenancy Sustain Services, etc. Work and living support services can and should be delivered to support them how they choose. This program oversees the OVR and ODP IDD Waiver programs offered through PA Inclusive.
Description
The Behavior/Housing Specialist will observe, assess, and treat individuals with emotional or behavioral problems and disorders such as depression, anxiety, addiction, autism, ADHD, OCD, etc. The Behavioral/Housing Specialist will develop and implement treatment plans, maintain progress reports, and provide support to the patients. The Behavior/Housing Specialist will supervise caseloads and provide direct services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism, and other varied disabilities, such as Housing Support, In-Home and Community Support, Companion Services, Community Participation Supports, Supported Employment, OVR employment services, and similar services. Prior experience in IDD Waiver services and/or employment services is preferred. Experience in or ability to learn ID compliance, staff supervision, case management, HCSIS and EIM, 24-7 on-call staffing, and activity planning preferred. This position will help people who live at home, in the community and in their own apartments, including promoting independence, working on personal goals, helping the individual participate in community activities, assisting in job finding and job coaching, and general in-home daily tasks. It is estimated that this role will be in the field up to 75% of the time, rotating between the company administrative offices and clients under the position’s supervisory responsibilities. The position is expected to meet and exceed budget and client growth projections.
Job Duties
- Obtain training/certification according to ODP and agency requirements and Inclusive Academy training programs. Promote said programs to Supervisors, DSP’s and Job Coaches.
- Build housing support plans for clients, and maintain client files.
- Assist clients with apartment search and housing applications including county government housing and understanding terms of lease.
- Assist clients with applications for food stamps, employment, energy assistance, etc.
- After housing is established, continue to support clients in maintaining housing according to their ISP goals, such as cleanliness, budgeting, and learning appropriate social interactions with landlord and neighbors.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients on caseload, including informing clients of agency activities and checking in on satisfaction with services, notifying clients of schedules and schedule/staff changes.
- File ‘paperwork,’ Therap Health Record, OVR, and other documentation properly and on time as directed.
- Attend agency meetings as requested, and attend meetings as required, including ISP, Intake meetings, and others as necessary and file all paperwork properly as required.
- Regularly communicate with OVR Counselors/Support Coordinators on progress and issues.
- Develop and report ‘’success stories’’ of housing clients. At least one story with pictures each week.
- Utilize systems appropriately, including but not limited to Paycom, When I Work, HCSIS, CDWS, THERAP etc. Work collectively with Therap Health Record systems, billing, training, QA, Compliance, and administration to effectively deliver services and compliance at all times.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, and manage assigned caseloads of staff clients.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans to address behavioral issues.
- Supporting clients throughout the treatment process.
- Communicating with client’s team and families to implement treatment plans.
- Monitoring and recording treatment progress.
- Conducting assessments to determine client’s improvements.
- Maintaining records and treatment reports.
- Collaborating with other healthcare specialists and support organizations.
- Be 24/7 on-call person for Behavior Supports Program.
- Attend training programs, certificates, conferences, and meetings as directed.
- Travelling to branch offices in other regions may be required.
- Other works related to Behavior Supports Program, and HTTS.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Special Education, or related field.
- Copies of ODP Training using Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Supports.
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or mental health disabilities required.
- Strong working knowledge of behavioral theory and applied behavior analysis.
- Understanding of the characteristics and behaviors associated with disorders.
- Ability to handle intense emotional situations.
- Ability to apply behavioral principles.
- Excellent stress management and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HUD, section 8 and voucher housing systems is a plus.
- Leadership skills, mentoring and coaching of staff skills are required.
- Goal-oriented, outcomes tracking ability and deliverable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism and bedside manner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and as a member of a team.
- Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record.
- Must Pass Child Abuse History and Criminal Record Check Clearances.
- Must not be on excluded lists from State of PA Exclusion Lists for similar industries.
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
