What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct- Nursing Instructor position at PA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY?
Summary of Position:
The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, a two-year not-for-profit College accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education seeks adjunct nursing instructors, approximately 8-24 hours per week for the College’s well-respected Practical Nursing program. This is a day program operating Monday through Friday on a term schedule. The instructors will report to the Director of Nursing.
Instruction is in-person clinical and/or lab, dependent on availability. Occasional instruction virtually via Zoom may be necessary. Flexibility is key!
Supervisor responsibilities: None
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Lecturing on practical nursing topics.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate clinical and/or lab discussions.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Evaluate and grade students class work, laboratory and clinic work, assignments, and papers.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to address issues with instruction.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Oversee labs/clinical activities.

- Ability to troubleshoot across different technology platforms such as Zoom.

- Proficient with Zoom.
Qualifications:
- BSN Degree.
- PA licensed RN.
- Previous clinical educator experience highly preferred. Ideally in the areas of pediatrics, mental health and long-term care.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.

The College requires all new employees to have successfully completed background clearances.
