General Science Full-Time Faculty
Teaching
- Teach a minimum of four (4) courses each term, primarily in Anatomy and Physiology.
- Participate in graduation and all assigned committee activities.
- Post mid-term and final grades in compliance with College expectations, as outlined in the faculty handbook.
- Recommend textbooks, websites, and other instructional material to the Director.
- Update attendance on a daily basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new curricula.
- Continue to research changes in one’s discipline to provide students with the most updated evidence-based information.
- Create assignments that link course learning outcomes to validate the transfer of knowledge.
- Design and produce hands-on activities for students that simulate real-world experience.
- Develop course outlines, lectures, and assessments.
- Adhere to all policies and practices as outline in the Faculty Handbook.
- Attend and participate in orientation activities.
- Establish and maintain office hours and website hours for student advisement or consultation.
- Participate in retention activities.
- Assess learning objectives of the program of study, in which the employee teaches, based upon the Annual Assessment of Student Learning Plan.
Qualifications
- Preferred level of education: Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience.
- Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with learning platforms, such as Canvas, Moodlerooms or Blackboard.
