What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist position at PA Pain Physicians?
We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at both our Lock Haven and Bloomsburg locations. Willingness to travel a plus, Athenahealth knowledge a plus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, collecting co-pays, scheduling patients, organizing electronic medical records and managing administrative tasks in a busy medical office environment. This role requires a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. We utilize Electronic Medical Record software Athena Health.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff members in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and ensuring timely communication.
- Manage the front desk, including checking patients in and out, collecting a co-pay and handling administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
- Utilize computerized systems to complete data entry tasks, including patient information and billing.
- Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Provide support to other departments as needed, including medical and administrative staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Skills:
- Experience in a medical office setting or willingness to learn advanced administrative duties.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with computerized systems and data entry software.
- Experience with phone systems and customer support.
- Strong administrative skills, including clerical and organizational experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
