The Position
Manages software engineers in Inflight Entertainment and Communication software systems with product development, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and data analytics. Position involves management and oversight of a talented team of direct reports to deliver on-time quality software products to meet customer needs. Works closely with broader management team to collaborate and achieve organizational goals. Leverages modern DevOps and SAFe principles to optimize team efficiency and promote a team culture of continuous improvement. Specific responsibility will be in the area of Cabin Services and related feature sets including OEM interfaces and successful deployment to field.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a team of software engineers to deliver on time viable software products that meet customer needs
Supports analysis of technology trends, and market demand to plan projects.
Works across functional groups to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.
Participates in forecasting operating costs of department and performs preparation of budget requests.
Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up actual performance against estimates.
Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and selection and placement of personnel.
Sets organizational goals for the team and supports team members to achieve planned goals. Provides timely feedback as needed and plans and conducts performance reviews.
Reviews and advises on decisions regarding technical approaches, considering resource allocation and time schedules for project or department activities.
Mentors direct reports and enables a culture that emphasizes transparency and growth.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 6 years of related work experience in systems software development. preferably in cabin avionics. In-flight entertainment highly preferred.
Minimum of 2 to 5 years supervisory experience in software development environments.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Requires planning to ensure the timely completion of several projects (budgets and resources).
Proven ability to establish goals, scope, approach, schedules, and manpower to accomplish overall objectives and programs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The salary of $131,000 - $220,000 is just one component of Panasonics total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individuals knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
