Position: Electronics Technician (Field Technician)

Summary:
The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and servicing various types of electronic systems related to communication and navigation equipment. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and safely, providing high-quality service to our customers while adhering to client’s safety and operational policies.Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic systems including but not limited to: Radar, VHF and MF/HF systems, AIS (Automatic Identification Systems), Computer systems, Camera systems, GPS systems, 12VDC and 24VDC power systems
- Use test equipment, including multi-meters, amp meters, and megger for diagnostic and maintenance tasks.
- Terminate and install all types of electronic equipment and cabling.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and testing of communication and navigation equipment.
- Manage and execute assigned projects effectively.
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and equipment from different manufacturers.
- Work on-call for a seven-day period, as needed.
- Occasionally travel to other locations for company assignments.
- Ensure adherence to client’s safety and operational policies.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical:
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances
- Ability to work in all adverse weather condition
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs and gangways up to 25 feet in height
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and work above head for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate client's vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
Personal Background:
- Must be capable of acquiring valid TWIC
- Must have valid driver license
- Must have clean driving record with no DWI convictions
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
Practical Experience:
- Previous experience in electronic service industry
- Good communications skills
- Professional manner in dealing with other employees, management and customers
- Organizational Skills
- Basic mechanical skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
